Technical Support Analyst - Infrastructure Support - 2nd/3rd Line Support - ITIL Service Desk


Our client, a large logistics organisation, is looking to recruit the services of a Technical Analyst to join their team on a permanent basis.

The post holder will be required to provide technical services and solutions to the IT department in the designand support of its IT infrastructure and software architecture in order to meet business requirements.

This involves providing 2nd and 3rd line support.


Responsibilities will include:


  • The provision of specialist expertise to facilitate and execute the installation and maintenance of system software such as operating systems, data management products, office automation products and other utility software.
  • The authorisation and monitoring of access to IT facilities or infrastructure in accordance with established organisational policy.
  • The operation and control of the IT infrastructure (typically hardware, software, data stored on various media, and all equipment within wide and local area networks) required to deliver and support IT services and products to meet the needs of a business.
  • The installation, configuration, upgrade, administration, monitoring and maintenance of physical databases.
  • The planning, implementation, configuration and tuning of storage hardware and software,


covering online storage (Storage Area network, Networked-Attached Storage, Direct Attached Storage), offline storage (backup, archiving), remote and offsite data storage (disaster recovery).


  • The provision of network maintenance and support services. Support may be provided both to users of the systems and to service delivery functions.
  • The resolution (both reactive and proactive) of problems throughout the information system lifecycle, including classification, prioritisation and initiation of action, documentation of root causes and implementation of remedies to prevent future incidents.

Required skills

  • Proven experience in an IT Support Infrastructure support role, with a track record of contributing within the whole support lifecycle.
  • ITIL Foundation level or equivalent recognised IT service provision qualification.
  • Knowledge of computer architecture and the fundamentals necessary to influence the way that the company utilises computer systems
  • Knowledge of networks and network maintenance
