Who we are

The role


As our Senior Transport Planner, you will mentor and supervise a team of professionals providing high level policy advice and evidence-based professional input to the Council on strategic and sustainable transport matters in respect of the Local Plan.

You will develop and influence relevant strategies, policies and business cases to secure improvement and investment in the Council's transport network as well as providing specialist internal advice on highways and transportation matters on a wide variety of local planning matters, including the preparation of policies and proposals within the Local Plan, significant development proposals and supporting the Council's case at public inquiries and hearings.

You will build relationships and lobby transport providers, developers, and businesses to secure improvements to the transport network and ensure the introduction of travel plans and represent the Council on a range of internal and external groups to ensure that the transport needs and ambitions of the Council are understood and reflected in policy making/decisions.
