Due to successful continued growth we have a vacancy for a Poling Surveyor to join our expanding teams for our Tier 1 client Openreach in the Bristol, Wiltshire and Dorset region, based in our Hallatrow depot.


Job Purpose


The Poling Surveyor will be responsible for site and field supervision of teams working under our clients contract in the Bristol, Wiltshire and Dorest region; ensuring client tasks are delivered to required time scales, in a safe and compliant manner; and reporting to the Poling Project Manager.


Key Responsibilities

  • Attending sites to complete a survey for the installation of a new telegraph pole.
  • Interpreting telecom design blueprints and construction maps.
  • Completing survey documentation job packs: ISP pasthways, drawings, address listings, bill of materials, confirmation pictures, construction plans and project timescales.
  • Conduct Onsite Safety Audits/Risk Assessments.
  • Be proactive in developing new systems to meet the changing needs of the department.
  • Liaison with third parties working in conjunction with the group to meet client's needs.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven experience of Surveying across an Openreach contract and an understanding of surveying on a Fiber Network.
  • Ability to design and understand complet network plans
  • Risk assessment and hazard identification
  • A strong focus on Health and Safety
  • SMART Awards required

Skills & Personal Qualities

  • An effective people manager with good delegation skills.
  • Good written, and verbal communication skills
  • Able to effectively prioritise to deliver works and management information to key deadlines
  • Able to analyse, problem solve and deliver effective solutions.
  • Confident computer skills particularly with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office
