Job description:


  • Responsible for basic JIG & fixture MIG welding on mild steel, ranging from 3mm up to 10mm in thickness.
  • Basic conventional machining, grinding, dressing & fettling may be required.
  • Responsible for the production of Parts that meet quality standard and where nonconformances arise ensure these are reported using the procedures in place and provide suggestions for corrective and preventative actions.
  • Ensure all aspects of company policy and procedure are fully adhered to in the bay.
  • Ensure the area meets and exceed the company standards on 5s.
  • Ensure that work is completed to the quality standards specified and all necessary records documented.
  • Ensure that safe working practices and procedures are adhered to in the working area.
  • Calibration of jigs (within 0.2mm tolerance).
  • Jig maintenance.
  • Repairing all jigs specific to paint.

Person specification:


  • Recognised relevant engineering qualification where applicable.
  • Recognised NVQ where applicable or time served welder.
  • Basic level of Maths and English.
  • Ability to read and interpret information required to operate equipment and meet planned output.
  • Able to demonstrate good level of Mig welding skill (Part of skill test).
