About us

:

The Cottesloe School is a successful and oversubscribed Foundation secondary school with Sixth Form situated in the village of Wing in rural North Buckinghamshire, located conveniently for Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

About the role

:

To provide general administrative support for the Pastoral Team which ensures that systems and processes are managed effectively and that all procedures are conducted within the framework of the school's ethos.

For more detailed specifics of the role, please see the Job Description and Person Specification.

About you

:

We are looking for a hardworking and friendly administrator to join our busy Pastoral team.

You will be someone who enjoys working with young people, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and work calmly and professionally under pressure.

Previous experience of working with young people and their parents/carers is essential. The role requires a First Aid at Work qualification, or willingness to complete upon appointment.

Other information

:

The Cottesloe School is committed to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and all staff, volunteers and governors are expected to share this commitment, to follow the school's safeguarding policies and procedures and to behave appropriately towards children and young people at all times both in work and in their personal lives.

Under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exemption Amendment) Order 1975, 2013 and 2020 there are a number of jobs where we must take account of convictions, even though they are 'spent' (excluding youth cautions, reprimands and warnings). All posts at this school are regarded as such. However, spent and/or unspent convictions may not necessarily make you unsuitable for appointment. Staff have a duty to inform the Headteacher of any change in their DBS status and to make the Headteacher aware of any incidents that may impact on their ability to work with children and young people.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants are required to declare

:

-
All unspent convictions and conditional cautions

:

-
All spent convictions and adult cautions that are not protected (i.e. that are not filtered out) as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2020).

:

-
For further information on filtering please refer to Nacro guidance
and the guidance issued by the Ministry of Justice** (see, in particular, the section titled 'Exceptions Order').
