SEN Teaching Assistant

Derby

£70-£95 per day


Career Teachers are seeking passionate, confident, and experienced Teaching Assistant to work within an Ofsted rated Good SEN School located within Derby.


Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Participate in planning and evaluation of learning activities with the teacher, providing feedback to the teacher on pupil progress and behaviour.
  • Support the Teacher in monitoring, assessing, and recording pupil progress/activities, using summative and formative assessment methods and live marking.
  • Provide feedback to pupils in relation to attainment and progress under the guidance of the Teacher.
  • Support learning by arranging/providing resources for lessons/activities under the direction of the Teacher.
  • Support pupils in social and emotional wellbeing, reporting problems to the Teacher as appropriate.
  • Share information about pupils with other staff, parents / carers, internal and external agencies, as appropriate.
  • Understand and support independent learning and inclusion of all pupils as required.
  • Using EHCPs in line with the student's specific learning and behavioural needs.

Requirements:


  • Have previous experience of working with children with autism spectrum disorder.
  • Share an understanding of the importance of a childcentred approach to learning.
  • Hold an NVQ Level 1 or 2, BTEC Level 1 or 2 or equivalent in Teaching Assistant or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Plan deliver and evaluate teaching and learning activities under the direction of a teacher.
  • Support Literacy and Numeracy development
  • Observe and promote pupil performance and development.
  • Experience supporting individuals with special educational needs in a school or support role setting.
