Following additional investment, the Nutrition and Dietetics Department have an exciting opportunity to join the Health Board wide Diabetes Prevention Programme.


The role is suitable for a Dietitian or registered Nutritionist with interest and experience of working in primary care to support the delivery of a support worker led lifestyle intervention.

The post is permanent, full time (working 37.5 hours per week).


You will be based within the Diabetes Prevention Programme working with the programme lead Dietitian across the 8 clusters in SBUHB.

You will be working closely with the SBUHB Nutrition Skills for Life Team, and primary care staff/ community partners.


The main post responsibilities will be:
To support the training, supervision and quality assurance of the project support workers.

To support the delivery of accredited nutrition education programmes as part of the Nutrition Skills for Life team.


To support the project lead Dietitian in the planning and organisation of clinics and the operational delivery of the programme.

To collect and evaluate data to support the evaluation of the programme locally and nationally.


The base for the post will be agreed on appointment, but you will be required to work at locations across the Health Board.

We offer both departmental and personal CPD time to support your development and share best practice.

Our department is committed to the development of evidenced based practice, research and clinical audit and you will be supported in attending relevant professional networking meetings, interest groups and CPD opportunities as well as having an annual appraisal.

We have good support from administrative staff and Dietetic Assistants. The Health Board has University status with Colleges of Medicine on site.
