Salary dependent on experience + discretionary performance-related bonus scheme paid once a year + 25 days holiday + bank holidays + pension + medical cover.

We seek an experienced full-time Finance Assistant to join our Head Office in Plymouth.

This is an opportunity to play an important role in our finance and administration department. Additional accountancy training will be provided to further qualifications.

Day-to-day duties will include:

Processing supplier invoices and credit notes. Checking statements to ensure costs are accurately recorded
Preparing complex sales invoices and maintaining project sales information on Project Management System
Setting up new and maintaining existing purchase ledger & sales ledger accounts on Xero
Maintaining accurate subconsultant records and issuing purchase orders and agreements
Liaising with Project Managers to ensure the smooth running of the sales ledger
Liaising with thirdparty providers, clients, and suppliers
Assisting with credit control queries
Updating and maintaining procedural documentation
General accounts administration
Telephone duties
Other administrative tasks as needed
Purchase ledger and sales ledger experience essential
Solid IT skills, including proficiency in the use of Outlook, Excel and Word
Methodical and organised, with strong numeracy and analytical skills, and good attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication with a proactive, "can do" approach to tasks
Flexible with the ability to adapt to varying responsibilities while maintaining effectiveness and prioritising work to tight deadlines
Fast learner able to work unsupervised.
