Position Summary

The Head of New Computing Sales is a development role for Samsung's Windows and Chromebook PC business, this is a great opportunity to get involved in a category that Samsung UK has re-established over the last 2 years and now looks for accelerated growth and a number 3 market position by 2025


You will be responsible for managing the delivery of the sales targets for the category, formulating the sales strategy and supporting the development of the strategic account plans (for key channel partners).

This role will deliver results through others by supporting the virtual sales team built around customer clusters and who's members report into the Sales Head for Operator and Retail respectively.

You will be part of a small dedicated PC category team focussed on growth


Reporting to the Computing Director, you will lead, develop and guide the virtual team members sitting within each of the Retail & Operator sales teams by optimising their account planning to deliver the financial and strategic objectives.

The Head of New Computing Sales is responsible for the local strategy for B2C sales.


You will support the development of category specific elements of the customer Joint Business Plans with all strategic accounts and the governance of the category elements of these plans with senior sponsors within each customer.


You will maintain existing and developing new customer and partner relationships (at the category level) that foster win-win engagements that deliver long term and sustainable growth.

What we need for this role

To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • In depth Knowledge of the UK Computing market.
  • Commercial team development, mentorship, and leadership
  • Strategy development communication and leadership
  • Existing senior relationships across UK retail and operator landscape
  • Relationship development of 3rd party partners (e.g. Intel)
  • Strong financial competence including forecasting, modelling, promotional effectiveness, return on investment
  • Relevant experience of leasing and innovation in commercial model development
  • Extensive multi-channel sales experience and a strong understanding of the UK consumer
What does success look like?


Develop Market & Customer Knowledge, Define the Execution Strategy- Development of senior (Head of and above) category relationships across key retail and operator partners- Owns the formulation and setting of the sales channel strategy for PC and implements the strategy across the virtual and direct sales team to maximise growth opportunities for the business.- Understand customer's strategic drivers for PC and align these with Samsung's objectives and the SEUK Strategy as it relates to the category.- Sets, steers and leads quarterly category reviews with the customer and part of the account QBR process- In conjunction with the SEUK Product team develops and maintains relationships with key partners (e.g.

Google, Intel & MSFT) to optimise their commercial support to deliver our objective.


Manage the Revenue- Handle relationships with key customers to drive profitable growth, through identifying and acting on market intelligence, insight and market dynamics to deliver appropriate quarterly and annual plans.- Ensure the delivery of a smooth and efficient end to end sales process through developing strong internal networks and external customer relationships.

- Establish and embed a virtual sales team management process for the category


Execute Commercial Strategy- Drive profitable business growth through a clear understanding and management of financial Key Performance Indicator's- Develop and implement strategies to deliver on SEUK commercial strategies for Tablet & Computing;- Grow Premium Market Share & Category ASP in Tablet- Launch and rapidly expand New Computing revenues- Working alongside the Head of Sales for Retail & Operator sales teams, support the development of the virtual team of Account Directors and Account Managers to run a best in class customer account planning process by analysing the customer's portfolio and advising and agreeing on product solutions that maximise profitable growth and ensure long term relationships with the customer.- Carry out regular planning and analysis to find opportunities and gaps and provide solutions to our customers that ensure a positive return on investment.- Support key and complex negotiations involving senior customer partners.- Drive preferred partner relationships through consultative selling, using a category management and insight led approach.
