As a Barclays EMEA Equities Valuation Lead, you will be working with the larger Equity Risk Valuations global team to help the business meet its goals on a number of strategic transformation initiatives.

You will work closely with Front Office IT Development, Quants, Business and other teams to help deliver integrated solutions across the whole Equity Risk IT stack, tailoring the solutions to help meet the needs of the EMEA and Global Business.

What will you be doing?:


  • Developing and maintaining the Equity Risk Valuation Stack primarily for the EMEA Equities Derivatives Businesses
  • Working with the Head of Equity Risk Valuations to determine relevant work for themselves and directing report in line with the global set of priorities
  • Working with other Technology teams, Business, Quant's and RTB based in the EMEA and other regions
  • Developing and designing high quality solutions to the problems the business faces
  • Managing the work of EMEA team and being responsible for the quality of their work output ensuring it meets the standards set by the Head of Equity Risk Valuations Lead

What we're looking for:


  • Be proficient in at least one of Java, C#, C++ with experience of developing in Java
  • Experience of working in a distributed/cross regional team with active communication between regions
  • Be proficient with Agile/Scrum practices and their implementation on a software development project
  • Be technically proficient knowledge of design patterns, data structures, algorithms and general problem solving is required

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Knowledge of Equity derivatives and Exotic Equity Derivatives
  • Proven ability to pick up and learn new languages on the job
  • Knowledge of databases & their SQL languages (e.g. Oracle, MSSQL, PL/SQL, TSQL)
  • Knowledge of Git/Bitbucket and associated workflows

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links.

With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
