Summary:


Requirements:


  • The individual will take a Health, Safety, Environmental and Wellbeing Assistant role on our multimillionpound Heathrow IT Account portfolio working at Heathrow Airport and will be reporting directly into our Project QSSE Manager.
  • We will need someone to have construction expereince specifically on the telecommunication field.
  • The individual will be mentored to develop into this role in the future. This is an excellent starter opportunity for someone looking to become a HSE Professional, to learn our business and have the opportunity for career progression.
  • We are seeking an assistant to support the QSSE Manager in achieving its quality, health, safety & environmental objectives in line with ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS14500
  • Ideally you will have a background in a similar role with an understanding of QHSE management systems, document control and the fundamentals of health and safety management.

The role would suit an experienced QSSE administrator or assistant or a newly qualified NEBOSH/IOSH certificate holder requiring experience of working with QHSE management systems.


  • The role is 5 days a week (40 hours) and will involve occasional night work depending on the contract workload and project requirements. Additional occasional visits to other Atkins offices across the UK will also be required. There is significant focus on employee and subcontractor management, monitoring activities to ensure compliance to Atkins, Industry and Legal standards.
  • The individual will need to be an excellent communicator and be confident to raise issues, brief individuals and to challenge unsafe acts. There will be regular interaction with operational staff, contractors, and the client, focussing on site behaviours.

Responsibilities:


  • Administrate the Approved Vendors List.
  • Administrate the company's health and safety statistics and records.
  • Maintaining the QHSE Calendar.
  • Carry out Contractor Inductions.
  • Assist with Workplace Inspections.
  • Complete COSHH assessments.
  • Assist in providing information for Pre-Qualification Questionnaires.
  • Assisting the QSSE Manager and Supervisor with administrating and developing the Quality and Health and Safety Management Systems as required.
