We are seeking a Peer Learning Support Worker to join our team at Thurrock Recovery College.
The post holder will be a member of the Inclusion Thurrock Wider Talking Therapies Team, and thus will report on outcomes of Individual Learning Plans, wellbeing and General Attainment Scores of personal SMART long and short term goals of learners to the wider team.
You will work alongside the Recovery College team to assist in the co-production of design and delivery of recovery focused courses and workshops for students and supporting those who require guidance to explore individual learning opportunities within the college.
The Recovery College is all about providing an educational learning environment for people who experience difficulties with, or have an interest in, mental health and wellbeing.
Our courses across Thurrock help us learn what gives us the best chance of staying well and living the most fulfilling lives we can.
Our belief is that recovery is a journey of discovery, to find hope, happiness, health and opportunities
The successful applicant will provide, create and deliver a range of complex and sensitive recovery focused courses/workshops and provide specialist advice in relation to Recovery for service users, their supporters and staff, using a hub and spoke model.
You will liaise with local organisations in order to develop jointly delivered courses/workshops and to improve opportunities for the social inclusion of mental health service users, identifying and addressing additional learning supports that students may need to have to enable them to undertake and complete courses.
As a Peer Learning Support Worker, you will demonstrate an awareness of the needs of the students, who experience mental health difficulties.
If they present as are unwell and require clinical help, support them to seek assistance through their GP or mental health service.
Inclusion, created in 2002 is part of the Specialist Services Care Group of Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT).
We provide caring and effective services across England, including, West Yorkshire, West Midlands, East Midlands, West Mercia, Thames Valley, Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Thurrock, Essex.

It is possible that the job title and nominal amendments to the JD/PS may be made in the near future, this will not affect the pay or terms and conditions.
To prepare written training support material for new courses as well as updating existing materials to reflect changes to procedures and policies within the Recovery College.
Provide in the enrolment process information, advice and guidance to students as required.
Ensure effective and confidential communication between professionals and students. Maintain confidentiality with regard to any information concerning students or colleagues that is of a confidential nature.
To implement, in accordance with Trust Guidelines, a system of gathering and analysing statistical information in relation to training activity in database and Microsoft 365 package software.
Planning and organisation of a number of complex activities or programmes, which require the formulation and adjustment of plans: E.g.
responsible for managing and prioritising own workload with competing demands of planning preparation time to learn course materials, develop them, update and review; follow up on Individual Learning Plans regarding outcomes and recording them; establish student safety plans as and when required; reorganise appointments which are missed.
