Job Title:
Content Writer (FTC - 6 months)

Location:
Peterborough

Salary Range:
£31,500 - £38,500

About CITB

Role purpose:

To provide clear, incisive, accessible and engaging written content, supporting the delivery of a portfolio of communications work. To agree project outputs and strengthen our engagement with and accountability to the construction sector.


To collaborate with internal teams to develop awareness of the outputs developed and contribute to achieving the business objectives through written communications.


Key responsibilities and accountabilities:


  • Ensure all content it is impactful, relevant and consistent with CITB's communication strategy, quality controlling content against brand guidelines and maintaining CITB TOV.
  • Present and prioritise information with relevance, clarity and impact, including key messages and statistics
  • Work with the wider team on regular content audits, assessing content against brand guidelines and effectiveness.
  • Proof and edit work from stakeholders and agency partners to support with campaigns and always on content generation.
  • Work with the digital team to craft SEO driven content.
  • Prioritise work effectively based on project deadlines and go-live dates.
  • Take part in ideation sessions with the team and wider stakeholders as needed.

Knowledge and Experience:


Essential

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven content writing experience in B2B and/or B2C contexts
  • Experience in effective working across different teams
  • Experience of turning complex information into accessible and engaging copy, to deadline
  • Excellent editing and proofreading skills
  • Experience of writing copy across different platforms, including digital, for different audiences
  • Demonstrable experience of managing content across multiple projects simultaneously, identifying opportunities to achieve integration and best value
  • Good knowledge of content writing principles and examples of continual professional development.

Desirable

  • A recognised content writing (or related) qualification
  • Experience in the recruitment, careers, education or skills environment
  • Experience in writing corporate publications
  • Experience of diversity and equality issues
  • Awareness of the challenges facing British Construction.

Occasional travel throughout GB may be required, which could include overnight stays._
