DEBRA are a national charity and patient support organisation that supports individuals and families affected by epidermolysis bullosa (EB), more commonly known as butterfly skin, an incredibly painful genetic skin blistering condition which, in the worst cases, can be fatal.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan, create, manage, and update multimedia communications materials for members and the wider EB community.
- Deliver the twiceyearly members print newsletter.
- Create and deliver information and resources specifically to help increase awareness and understanding of EB amongst with key healthcare professionals.
- Ensuring all content is consistent with the organisation's brand and language guidelines and deals sensitively with those whose personal experiences might be featured.
- Provide support to the Head of Communications in other areas of communications including delivering the research specific communications plan which includes providing updates of key projects, promoting research grant calls, managing, and developing the website research hub, and delivering the annual internal communications plan.
Skills and experience:
- An accomplished writer skilled in adapting the tone of voice.
- An accomplished multitasker with the ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities.
- Experience of creating robust communications campaigns and the ability to think strategically.
- Great communication skills, a positive, 'can do', collaborative attitude.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- A true team player who is passionate about making a positive difference.
