The Opportunity

You'll be the primary finance contact for a thriving manufacturing group (an autonomous circa £100m turnover offshoot & part of a multi-billion t/o international plc).

Your role is forward-looking and works in close partnership with the GM & Operational Leadership team. It's a fast-paced, profitable multisite manufacturing group with high ambition.

Your role is vital - the senior finance business partner and a sounding board / critical friend to the other SLT members across commercial and ops functions.

You'll be shining a light around profit and revenue drivers, margin erosion points, bottlenecks, waste and manufacturing efficiency, material and labour variances, forecasts, KPIs, trends.

basically challenging the business to drive optimal performance.

It's a highly visible role - a position for a senior finance professional who loves the pace of manufacturing and is equally (if not more) comfortable in and amongst the site rather than hidden in their office.

You need to be someone who loves getting under the skin of a large and complex production setting - someone with the commercial acumen to bring the numbers to life.

You'll have great communication skills and be a natural business partner.

A finance professional who can confidently discuss financial info with a non finance audience and someone who enjoys making a real difference.

You need:

  • Previous experience as Financial Control / head of Finance / FD within a manufacturing environment (ideally FMCG and likely a business of £50m+ turnover minimum).
  • Natural gravitas and previous experience of influencing positive change within a production setting.
  • Confidence when working with senior leadership teams made up of senior managers and directors from all areas of the business.
  • Professionalism, a good sense of humour and positive approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to coach and lead others and to encourage an environment of continuous improvement.
  • CIMA, ACCA or ACA.

If you are a senior finance professional looking for an exciting high profile new challenge in a modern manufacturing group it would be great to speak.
