Summary

This is one of the world's top algorithmic trading firms, looking for Database SREs well-versed in Linux to design, build and maintain a diverse database infrastructure.

A community of self-starters from multiple tech backgrounds - maths, computer science,statistics, physics, engineering - they have built one of the world's most sophisticated computing environments for research and development with data at its core.

This business-critical role offers the opportunity to join a small but rapidly growing team, where you will help to keep systems running smoothly, continuously improve reliability and performance and aid in rapid prototyping of new systems

Typical projectsinclude:
scaling and productionizing classic DBs (e.g. SQL server and Postgresql), as well as setting up new systems, e.g. Pinot, Druid, Dremio.
If you eat, sleep and breathe databases, and can analyse and solve complex problems quickly, this role is perfect for you

Requirements:

2+ years' database management and infrastructure engineering experience
Familiarity with distributed DBs, timeseries DBs, relaxed consistency models, columnar storage
Knowledge and experience with Linux, comfortable using Linux/UNIX command line tools
Solid skills in one of: Postgres, MySQL or Yugabyte
Strong scripting, performance troubleshooting and networking knowledge
Topnotch communication skills
