Key accountabilities- Reconciling debits and credits to ensure the accounting system reflects the correct transactions.

  • Performing daily financial transactions such as verifying, calculating and posting accounts payable data.
  • Download the debit balance report weekly from Sage.
  • Download individual vendor reports from account enquiry and the matching report from Sage so you can analyse the data in excel and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • A small fraction of invoice processing.
  • Matching debits and credits in Sage.
  • Lots of liaising with other departments across the organisation such as management accounts, head of finance, accounts payable and various other departments but these being the main ones.
  • Collaborating with the vendors. Sometimes this requires meetings via 'Teams' with senior members of the vendors credit control department.
  • Contribute to Processing of all payments to Suppliers, Locums, BPs etch via HSBCNet, although mainly GBP the ability to make payments in other currencies (Euro, USD) would be beneficial.
  • Downloading bank statements and posting payments into sage.
  • Good Excel skills is essential.

Skills and experience We are looking for someone who**:

  • Has recent, demonstrable experience of working within a Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable Assistant role
  • Is keen to pursue a career in finance, with GCSE's in Maths & English and ideally studying towards AAT or equivalent
  • Has strong data entry skills and able to work at a fast pace with high accuracy
  • Is a self starter, organised and able to work independently
  • Has excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
