Senior Automation Lead


As we continue to deliver on our digital transformation initiatives and help support our brands across the UK & Ireland, our aim is to continuously assess ways to accelerate and improve testing across Digital and IT with automation at the heart of everything we do.

That's why we're looking for a Senior Automation Lead to join our digital team. It's a hybrid role and our office is in Newbury.


You'll be responsible for managing a team of Automation & Manual testers and accountable for driving high quality and robust automation into all areas of testing to support regular release cadence with continued focus on tooling, improvements, runtime efficiencies, and resource upskilling.


Responsibilities;

  • Contribute and implement an ambitious, data and digital delivery roadmap using automation in an agile workplace.
  • Complete tooling assessments for new projects and explore new technologies.
  • Work with existing automation teams to help drive improvements in speed and efficiency. Your knowledge and experience here will be key.
  • Continuous assessments into our automation approach and implement improvements where required.
  • Drive automation strategy with freedom to try new things.
  • Show measurable improvements in testing quality, performance and test cycles using tools and automation.
  • Ensure all digital sponsored testing activity is supporting CI/CD.
  • Drive quality and security into all of our deliverables, enabling release barriers to be removed.

Knowledge & Experience needed;

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience of automation testing and BDD.
  • Require knowledge and a keen interest in various areas for automation such as web, mobile apps and thick clients.
  • Understanding and experience of a vast range of automation tools including experience in setting up new frameworks. Highly skilled but not limited to Selenium, Appium and TOSCA.
  • Able to manage several projects simultaneously to ensure automation is being built and executed in the most efficient way, best practices and industry standards including security by design.
  • It is essential experience includes working with internal and external partners, suppliers, product owners and external QA resources.
  • Be able to develop standardised automated testing strategies that support our delivery goals.
