Description

The post holder will have a good standard of general education including numeracy and literacy skills, with a commitment to undertake training to NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care/Clinical Healthcare Support.


The post holder will be required to act as a pivotal role in the patient pathway within Radiology, supporting the Nursing team and clinical duties as required.

They will have the opportunity to work in numerous areas within the department and will be expected to respond to routine queries, provide encouragement, reassurance and care to patients undergoing intimate examinations, and effectively liaise with other disciplines to discuss patient preparation, appointment times, and transport needs.


The post holder will be required to carry out a range of assigned tasks involving direct and non-direct patient care and will be in support of and supervised by the Radiology nursing team.


This post is of an evolving nature and the job description is based upon a flexible core competency framework that will enable the post holder to develop their role.

This role is linked clearly too minimum training requirements providing competency to practice.


Following the completion of training and achieving of core competencies they will be expected to deliver a range of basic nursing duties to patients, ensuring that privacy, dignity and respect are maintained at all times.

To assist Radiologist in lists and work alongside a multidisciplinary team.

The UHB Radiology services are provided on three main sites

  • Princess of Wales, Royal Glamorgan and Prince Charles Hospital. The post holder may be required to work cross sites to meet the needs of the service.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
