Purchase Ledger / Payroll Assistant

Newton Le Willows - Hybrid
Salary - c.£25,000
Fantastic opportunity with an extremely successful, high-growth business based in Newton Le Willows.
To support the on-going growth of their business, they are seeking a high-calibre Payroll Assistant that would be happy to take on a broader role.
The role offers hybrid working with only 1-2 days required in the head office.Requirements of the Role
- To process supplier invoices and reconciling supplier statements
- Monitor and review of outstanding invoices and prompt resolution of queries.
- Complete the monthly payroll process.
- Manage all PAYE related matters including, SSP, SMP, SPP, statutory deductions, Attachment of earnings, Pension deduction, Starters/Leavers, PAYE end of year procedures including provision of end of year forms P60s and P11ds.
- Manage HMRC queries.
- Submit monthly PAYE and pension contributions on schedule.
- Calculate employee tax benefits.
- Reconcile payroll reports and monthly journals.
- Be a point of contact for payroll queries within the team.
- Assist with reviews of employee expenses.
- Assist with bank reconciliations.
- Assist with preparation of the monthly payment run.
- Assist with monthend closure and analysis.
- Assist with VAT return preparation.
Skills, experience, and qualifications
- Previous experience of transactional payroll activities either in a payroll or HR role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (High Level of face to face/confidence)
- Strong organisation skills
- Selfmotivated
