The Tri-borough Perinatal Mental Health Service is looking for a motivated and passionate Peer Support Worker to join us. This is an innovative award winning service delivering new models of specialist care within West London NHS Trust.

This would be an exciting opportunity for a person with lived experience of Perinatal Mental Health to join our service.

You will be a member of the multi-disciplinary team, facilitating client-centred activities for our women and their families.

We expect through sharing aspects of your own lived experience of mental health challenges and of accessing services, that you as Peer Support Workers will inspire hope and the belief that recovery is possible in others.

Using recovery principles and socially inclusive practice, the post-holder will support service users in their personal recovery journeys through the Perinatal mental health service.

This may mean providing peer support for mums who may require Psychological or Occupational Therapy group interventions and provide peer support for mums who experience similar mental health and social needs during the perinatal period.

They will foster a relationship of mutuality and information sharing, to promote choice, self-determination, opportunities and hope.

They will raise awareness about local resources and opportunities that may assist people in maintaining their recovery.

They will encourage and support service users to use community and children's resources that are available to them, and support the Perinatal Service with developing links with these resources.

They will act as an advocate for recovery within the team and an ambassador for recovery for the Trust and with partner agencies.

The post-holder will be required to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in community settings.

We provide care and treatment for more than 800,000 people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow, delivering services in the community (at home, in GP surgeries and care homes), hospital, specialist clinics and forensic (secure) units.

We're rated good overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Together, we're committed to promoting hope and wellbeing, working with patients, service users, carers, families and partners across the communities we serve.

We are keen to ensure that our workforce reflects the community it serves, particularly in terms of ethnicity, gender, disability, LGBTQ+ and experience of mental illness.
