LARA Search is interested in recruiting a driven and passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team
Responsibilities:
- Work with children on a 1:1 or small group basis to support their learning and development.
- Support children with SEND in the classroom, providing assistance with tasks and adapting materials to meet their needs.
- Help to manage behaviour and promote positive social interaction among children.
- Provide personal care and support, where required.
- Work with the SENDCo to help develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour plans.
- Attend and contribute to SEND reviews, and communicate with parents and other professionals as necessary.
- Monitor and record children's progress, and provide regular feedback to teachers and other staff members.
- Support the wider school community in promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
- A passion for working with children and helping them to achieve their potential.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A patient and caring approach to working with students.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of KS
- KS5 children and young adults.
- Experience working in a school setting is desirable, but not essential.
- Experience with specific learning difficulties such as Autism, Challenging Behaviour, ADHD, and Speech and Language difficulties is desirable.
