What will you be doing?
As a Funds Lawyer some of your responsibilities will include to:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of fund specific scheme documentation in line with regulatory and business requirements
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating other investment related agreements, including Investment Management Agreements (IMA), Sponsorship Agreements and Joint/Co-Manufacturing agreements
- Contribute to the review of key distribution / platform agreements and other key commercial agreements including with fund administrators, depositaries, broker and trading counterparties and technology providers
- Advising on matters related to the implementation of regulatory change, including presentation of regulatory developments to colleagues
- Assist with onboarding new Sponsors and clients to our expanding Authorised Corporate Director (ACD) business
- Help resolve queries of a legal nature and ensure the firm is adequately protected against any legal claims
- Review existing processes, policies and procedures and ensure they are in line with current regulatory requirements, recommending amendment where necessary
- Work with colleagues and external stakeholders in various projects
- Attend client meetings and pitches as a UK funds SME, demonstrating the firm's service offering and valueadd to win new and repeat business
- Attend relevant industry and networking events as may be required from time to time
- Support and provide cover for other members of the team and wider department as and when required.
- Ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard and work produced within deadlines
- Operate in accordance with division's policies and procedures manuals.
- Any other duties as required.
To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate:
- 2 years+ PQE
- Experience in working with UK fund documentation and other investment related legal agreements
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including good negotiation skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple requirements and meet deadlines
- Demonstrable analytical skills
- Proven ability to work independently and as a team player in a fastpaced environment
- Strong Interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to communicate well both written and verbally to senior audiences.
- Demonstrate ability to understand and summarise complex information in a professional and concise manner.
