The Role


Purpose of the Job role is to support the Wayside Manager and staff team in order to provide a welcoming and inclusive community and to lead the team in the manager's absence.

To offer support to residents and effectively monitor the service whilst contributing towards service improvement and development. To act with integrity and keep within professional boundaries.


Main Duties:


  • To lead the team in the Manager's absence within the project and externally, taking responsibility for tasks and management duties to ensure Wayside service delivery continues seamlessly.
  • To have responsibility for some key working, the implementation of support plans and to supervise the delivery of support to Wayside residents.
  • To have an understanding as to how to effective support women at risk who live in Wayside supported accommodation.
  • To assist in providing support and opportunities for people living in the community at Wayside to grow and develop so individuals can gain skills to achieve long-term sustainability of interdependent accommodation.
  • To oversee the delivery of support to those living at Wayside by ensuring support plans, risk assessments and reviews are correctly managed and updated by
support workers. To conduct bi-monthly audit checks, evidence these checks in the appropriate electronic folder and facilitate necessary improvements.


  • To monitor individual progress in accordance with support plans and take any necessary action to promote progress and facilitate timely, consultative and planned exits from the service.
  • Develop and maintain positive relations with key stakeholders as a key representative of a Keychange Community and take an active role in establishing and maintaining local networking connections.
  • To undertake the line management of staff, as delegated, and to support all staff and volunteers in their job roles. To conduct supervisions as assigned and to provide a written signed record for staff files, in a timely manner.
  • To monitor all health and safety audit checks so as to ensure accurate records are kept.
  • To monitor risk assessments, update when required and ensure staff are working correctly within these risk assessments.
  • To arrange resident interviews in a timely manner, assess and if appropriate, arrange admission with a view to keeping voids to a minimum.
  • To be fully acquainted with Keychange and Wayside Community policies and procedures and ensure that these are followed by staff and volunteers, reporting any non-compliance to the manager and assisting in the redress and correct implementation of policy.
  • To act as an ambassador on behalf of Keychange and utilise opportunities to enhance the Charity's external profile and reputation.
  • To be responsible for and able to evidence own personal development by undertaking relevant training, attending meetings, conferences and events ensuring that you are updated in all matters relevant to the role within your personal development plan, agreed with your manager.
  • To respond to on-call situations appropriately as they arise at the service. On-call to be shared with the manager.
  • To carry out delegated administration tasks.
  • To carry out additional duties and tasks that may be required within the range of the responsibilities of the post.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS

Internal:
Staff and volunteers at Wayside, Quality Improvement Team, Senior Managers and other staff working in Keychange Communities.

External:
Local Borough Housing Officers, Funders, Other provider organisations, Multi-Disciplinary Teams and Contractors.

The post holder must carry out all duties in a manner, which is consistent with Keychange Charity values, which are based on an inclusive Christian ethos.

The post holder must also maintain the policies, procedures and practices of the organisation and as far as possible, must ensure that all activities within the work setting are consistent with those values, policies, procedure and practices.


CONFIDENTIALITY


The post holder must ensure that any information relating to employees, service users and volunteers (future, current and past) is treated in strictest confidence and must be discussed only within the confines of the work setting with the appropriate members of the team or managers.
