THE ROLE OF PRIVATE CLIENT ACCOUNTING MANAGER

We are looking for a strong Manager with a practice background which includes robust management accounts, VAT and compliance experience to work closely alongside the Head of Private Clients.


  • You will have the opportunity to manage the London portfolio of high net worth and highprofile clients which make up their Private Client department. The client base is diverse and really exciting, including wellknown sports personalities, musicians, TV/filmactors, hospitality/fashion clients, Art Galleries and creative industries.

The successful applicant will have the autonomy to shape their own career within a tight-knit, innovative, start-up style environment, but with the support and guidance of the wider Compliance, Tax and Wealth Management teams of a top 50 firm.

You will be passionate about acting as a mentor and coach to a small, dedicated team of trainees, semi-senior and newly qualified staff.


ROLE OBJECTIVES

  • Oversee the management and development of an accounts team through effective supervision and training to help you deliver an exceptional service to a portfolio of key clients.
  • Manage a portfolio of up to 250 clients
  • Assist with business development and bringing in new clients to the London office
  • Managing all work in progress and billing for your clients ensuring monthly targets are met
  • Managing team, appraisals etc, staff feedback
  • Review all year end and management accounts files and working papers completed by your team and ensure review points are clearly fed back
  • Organise and lead weekly team meetings to discuss client deadlines, workload/planner and billing targets.
  • Attend client meetings, building excellent working relationships and actively highlighting any crossselling opportunities for the wider group
  • Keep up to date with latest legislation and feedback across the group when necessary
YOUR KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Qualified in either ACCA, ACA or CIMA (or equivalent) or be QBE with substantial experience within a practice environment where main duties have related to statutory year end accounts - essential

  • Experience of preparing and reviewing complex financial reporting packs essential
  • Up to date experience of accounting and reporting software, including app stacks essential
  • Ability to build, strengthen and form credible relationships with current and future external stakeholders essential
  • A genuine interest in a highly client focused role and willingness to make a positive contribution essential
  • Strong leadership skills and a strong desire to coach and develop team members essential
  • Flexible and proactive approach to work and the ability to work under pressure essential
  • Experience dealing with charity statutory requirements and accounts desirable
