My client in
Stevenageis looking for an experienced
Band 3 Haematology/ Blood Sciences Biomedical Scientist for a locum contract.


Job Role:

  • Monday
  • Friday
  • 37.5 h/week
  • Perform a number of healthcare science clinical/technical/scientific activities under supervision, e.g. performs standard biochemical/haematological tests.
  • Maintains clinical records in relation to activities carried out
  • Demonstrate own duties to new or less experienced employees.
  • To work flexibly in reflection of service needs which may include an extended working day and/or participation in delivery of a 24 hour, 7 days per week service.
  • The work of the service brings staff into constant contact with human body fluids, tissues and hazardous chemicals. This may include blood, pus, urine, faeces, and respiratory secretions.
  • Maintain and promote professional image of the Trust.

Qualifications and Experience required:
-
HCPC registered as a BMS:

  • Previous MLA experience in a Blood Sciences Lab
  • Previous supervisory/training experience
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Demonstrable interpersonal skills ability to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Ability to concentrate for prolonged periods of time
  • Manual dexterity appropriate to activities associated with post
