We are looking for an
Inventory Controller to join our team

Purpose of role:

Support development of the inventory control strategy, with the aim of improving inventory accuracy, reducing cost and maximising operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage, control and undertake perpetual inventory activities/inventory accuracy checks and ensure integrity/accuracy of the stock management systems.
Investigate and complete root cause analysis on stock inaccuracies; where required work constructively with relevant parties to implement effective countermeasures.
Develop strong working relationships with all relevant stakeholders, in particular the warehouse, production and purchasing teams.
Minimize overstock and highlight obsolete component parts/raw materials, liaise with management to action accordingly.
Work collaboratively with the Warehouse and Production Team Leaders to ensure that all staff are fully trained and adhering to inventory management procedures.
Produce reports and provide routine management information on inventory performance.
Monitor and evaluate material utilisation and scrap procedures across the site, working crossfunctionally to implement/improve procedures and adherence to such.
Implement improvement processes and systems to reduce inventory, minimize costs and maximize working capital
Ensure maintenance of accurate written procedures for all main inventory control processes.
To work in a safe manner; driving positive behaviour and leading by example with regard to the Company's health and safety policies
To carry out any other duties not listed above as may reasonably be expected

Person Specification - Inventory Controller

QUALIFICATIONS

5 GCSEs Grade A-C/49 including Maths and English or equivalent.

Desirable

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Management or other relevant professional qualification.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Minimum 4 years' experience in inventory management.
Knowledge of supply chain and inventory management principles and guidelines.
Detailed understanding of ERP/MRP and/or other inventory management

Desirable

Experience of lean concepts, kanban and continuous improvement.

Desirable

Experience working in a similar industry.

SKILLS

Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Effective time management and organisational skills.

PERSONAL

Selfmotivated with a willingness to learn, improve and adapt.
Strong attention to detail and adept at using a data driven approach to root cause analysis and problem solving.
Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure and to tight timescales, whilst maintaining quality.
Proactive individual, comfortable with challenging and influencing at all levels within an organisation.

Salary

Up to £35,000 per year - dependent on experience
