Buyer (Fixed Term Contract)
This role will be on an initial fixed term contract with the possibility of being made permanent.
Main Responsibilities:
- Negotiating prices for materials and parts
- Agreeing lead times with suppliers
- Developing excellent working relationships with suppliers
- Monitor stock levels to prevent stock shortages
- Attend weekly production meetings and provide update on purchased part status
- Produce procurement reports for management
- Sourcing new and alternative suppliers
- Other relevant ad hoc duties
- Previous buying / purchasing experience
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Ability to work both alone and alongside a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Good computer skills
- Working knowledge of MRP / ERP systems (Desirable)
