Are you an experienced PRU HLTA that is looking to start a new role after half term?
Have you previously covered Maths, English and Science?
Are you able to manage the class and have strong behaviour management?
If you answered yes to the above, then this PRU HLTA role is for you

PRU HLTA

For this PRU HLTA role it will be split into two parts, one will be covering lessons and the other will be supporting students during their lessons and managing behaviour.

In each class there will be 6-8 students, sometimes less.

All of these students willhave been removed from a mainstream school due to attendance, behaviour, gang related issues and complex reasons.

You will mainly be classroom based where you will be required to support the students during their lessons and manage any behaviour that may occur.

There will be times where a class teacher will be absent or not able to take a lesson due to meetings etc and this is where you will need to step in.

All of the lessons will be pre-planned by the class teacher, and you will be required to mange the class anddeliver the lessons.

When there is a planned absent, where a class teacher is going to be off for a week or longer, you will be required to work closely with them prior to this, to help plan the lessons.

The ideal PRU HLTA for this role will need to have hadprevious experience in a PRU or SEMH School and have strong classroom and behaviour management skills.


Pupil Referral Unit

This Pupil Referral Unit is located in the South London borough of Southwark and caters for girls and boys aged between 11-16 years who have been removed from a mainstream school on a temporary or permanent basis from mainstream schools in the local area.

Theycurrently have 50 students who attend and in their last Ofsted in June 2018, they were reviewed as 'Good' in all areas.
