Description

The Therapy Services at Kemple View aim to provide bespoke and individualised treatment pathways for patients with complex mental health, recovery needs and risk profiles.

The services include Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy and education for adult males detained in either our Low Secure or Recovery and Rehabilitation settings.

Therapy services staff work together as part of identified Multi-Disciplinary Teams with our nursing and medical colleagues, using positive psychology approaches with patients that aim to motivate, engage, develop and practice skills to achieve life goals and promote long term change to progress through the identified care pathways.

Bespoke and specialised psychological interventions and treatment pathways form a major part of the treatment provision.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Therapies Assistants to join our team and help our "outstanding" service continue to develop.

Working alongside an established team of experienced Forensic Psychologists, Forensic Psychologist in training and a Specialist Practitioner, these roles will enable the successful applicants to receive specialist training, experience of all aspects of the psychology service, and supervision.

Successful applicants will get opportunities to develop their knowledge of psychological assessment, bespoke person centred treatment interventions and systemic work, and to assist with the provision of a comprehensive psychological service for complex adult men with significant mental health needs, forensic behaviours and substance misuse issues.

You would also have the opportunity to work within the Occupational Therapy and Social Work departments, as part of the wider work of Therapy Services.

The successful applicant will also be given the opportunity to work with the nursing staff, in order to give the applicant the opportunity to gain experience of working on the wards within the hospital, as part of our nurisng team.

We would encourage this approach in order to make the most of this opportunity to gain appropriate holistic experience within a mental health setting.

The post will require some very occasional weekend work, but this is agreed in advance.

This post requires the successful applicant to work as with a clear team ethos and the provision of and expectation to engage positively in supervision and reflective practice.

A high standard of written communication skills

These posts would suit anyone wishing to gain relevant experience in order to pursue a career as a Psychologist, or associated Therapist.
