Description
We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to join a gas companies new offices in the Netherlands. Working in the new offices in the Hague as the Manager of Construction Netherlands.


The successful applicant will supervise the Regional Home Office Construction Organisations both within Netherlands regional office and specific European sites.

The role will report directly to the EMEA Manager of Construction. All the Construction FieldPersonnel in Netherlands Region report directly to the Netherlands Manager of Construction.


Main responsibilities include:

  • Direct and Lead teams to achieve excellence in Construction performance, against KPI's related to EHS, Cost, Schedule and Quality.
  • Accountable for all facets of organisational management e.g. recruiting, training, goal setting, coaching, counselling for all employees within the Construction Engineering and specific project site Construction teams some of which are local and a significantnumber will be remote. Manage the recruitment, training and career development of resources in Netherlands office Construction Engineering Group to ensure that projects, proposals and development work can be resourced with the necessary skills and experienceto ensure flawless execution
  • Assess the Work Process for EMEA Construction Engineering and work with the Global and Regional Functional Management to ensure that Work Processes, Procedures and Standards are available, applied consistently and followed in a disciplined manner.
  • Formulate and implement strategies for executing Construction work in new and existing territories to support the strategic objectives and markets specifically Europe
  • Lead and direct the Netherlands Construction Group in the accurate assessment of safety, execution, resourcing and financial and schedule performance to ensure timely reporting to Executive Management
  • Take lead during Proposal and Project stage to ensure constructability is built into the design of each plant, including the design team considering how the construction will be realized in the field.
  • Support and drive improvements in the organisation across the functions to ensure ongoing improvements in EH&S and Engineering excellence
Education and Experience

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent is required, as well as experience gained in similar project environment.
  • A very broad experience of Engineering, Design, Manufacturing and Construction together with relevant Commercial experience in Contracting / Procurement.
  • A proven ability to show leadership qualities often under difficult and arduous circumstances.
  • An ability to handle a wide range of demands and commitments and to have the skills to manage these while maintaining the confidence of Senior Management and the support of the Project and Site Teams.
  • The proven ability to develop relationships with Key stakeholders such as the Business Area, Operations and Executive Management across the Global Organisation and to establish credibility and trust with them.
