PRISM is a unique charity based Independent School near the centre of Bradford, working with some of the hardest to reach young people from across the district, across two sites including an inner-city farm.


What we need
Following a restructure, we are seeking to grow and offer new and updated services to all our young people.

PRISM independent School are looking to recruit diverse and dynamic individuals to join our current staff team and are ambitious to grow and improve to support young people from across the district.

To work with young people especially those who are socially excluded and experiencing mental distress.

  • To support all service users with social & therapeutic horticulture, garden design, animal care & conservation activities
  • To provide one to one support with young people
  • To support young people to develop their self esteem, motivation and life skills.
  • Support all staff & volunteers around all issues relating to mental health
  • To achieve annual targets agreed with Manager.
  • To work alongside volunteer support worker to ensure a seamless provision within a City Farm environment.

Main Purpose of Job

  • Maintain and develop appropriate working relationships with staff, young people volunteers and other partner agencies.
  • To work with and support young people who require additional help with mental health issues, including assessments, 1 to 1's, action planning and evaluation meetings with referring agencies.
  • To support & identify the development of new initiatives
  • To support all staff & volunteers around mental health issues
  • Report maintenance required to line manager
  • To promote and develop work with young people and the community
  • To ensure the implementation of PRISM's Equal Opportunities Policy.
  • To carry out such tasks and duties from time to time as required by the Managing Director of PRISM
  • Adhere to all PRISM policies.
  • Support delivery of the Environment based Projects in line with PRISM's Principals and Values Policy
  • To work alongside other inhouse projects to ensure young people receive a seamless service.
  • To be an advocate for PRISM both within and outside the organisation.
  • The building of a sensory area on the farm site using ecotherapy to meet the needs of the service users.
  • Using cognitive behavioural theories to support mental health. Equipping pupils with the tools to deal with anger and develop resilience.
  • Ensure that the all interventions are current and up to date by researching topics
  • Maintain schemes of work and ensure that all progress is recorded on the correct formats
  • Deliver PSD session one to one and in small groups using the PSHE guidelines and recording on the ILP

37 hours per week to include evening and weekends
