We are delighted to be working alongside a major highway's contractor in the Cirencester area and are currently recruiting for a Trainee Highways Inspector / Van Driver.

Working in partnership with council colleagues, utility companies and other stakeholders, the post holder will undertake key inspection functions and help keep the borough moving by ensuring works in the highway are safely delivered in a timely manner whilst protecting the highway asset.


Specifically, this post will be responsible for providing day to day inspection, monitoring and compliance duties to ensure activities on the highways are being delivered in accordance with current legislation and to the Permit Scheme as adopted.


As a Trainee Highway Inspector, you will:

  • Assist with first level inspections for all highways related issues.
  • Perform and accurately report safety inspections and service inspections across the road network.
  • Identify issues of concern to residents and stakeholders in each inspection area.
  • Inspect the quality of the highway boundary and identify adjacent buildings and landscapes that have a significant negative visual or tangible impact on the network.

  • Promote a safe working environment at all times for yourself and others, keeping up to date with risk assessments for all highway inspections implementing all relevant controls.

Our client requires a Trainee Highway Inspector with:

  • The ability to collect accurate asset and defect information
  • The ability to manage time and workloads to a strict inspection schedule
  • A full UK driving licence

Salary and Benefits:


  • This is an exciting opportunity to join the Streetworks team.
Being physically fit is essential as the inspections will be carried out on foot in all weather conditions.

It is also essential to hold a valid full UK drivers licence, as you'll be driving between sites for inspection work.


Salary:
£21,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
