Description

Children North East is a large North East based children's charity that works across the region, with some work extending across England, Wales and Scotland.

We exist because growing up can be hard.

We want all babies, children and young people to be happy and healthy, and to grow up feeling safe and loved, resilient to the challenges they may face, and valued and confident.

CNE are seeking a highly motivated and organised co-ordinator who will lead the co-ordination of our NCS (National Citizen Service) 'Open To All' programme across the North East Mayoral Combined Authority area.

Children North East will meet the needs of young people accessing NCS by co-ordinating a range of delivery partner organisations who will support 16-17 year olds through their NCS journey.

CNE will also coordinate a year-round calendar of events that will be provided by a range of partner organisations for young people to get involved in different 'experiences' in their community to:

  • Develop life skills and support independent living
  • Build employability and workreadiness
  • Provide opportunities for volunteering and social action
  • Enable social mixing of young people from all backgrounds

This work will place Children North East at the forefront of Youth Work delivery across the North East Mayoral Combined Authority which will contribute to the reach and growth of youth work in the region.

This work is powered by strong relationships across the youth sector and within organisations, which will lead to long term sustainable partnerships that will benefit young people across the North East long after this NCS funding.

Through the leadership of this project Children North East can feed into policy and work with partners, agencies, local and national government to campaign, challenge and influence change around the National Youth Guarantee.

The post holder will be a member of the established Youth Team within our Communities Team and will be based at our Cowgate Centre.

All of our staff receive regular supervision and managers offer an open door policy for case discussion and debriefing if required.

Please note CVs will not be accepted.
