Unique School Solutions are proud to be partnering with a primary school in the S5 area of Sheffield who are looking to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant to work with SEND children throughout the school.


This SEND Teaching Assistant position is to start as soon as possible and is full time Monday - Friday, term time only.

The position is initially for 12 weeks with the possibility of a permanent contract.

The job role

  • Use specialist (curricular/learning) skills/training/experience to support pupils with SEND
  • Assist with the development and implementation of EHCP's
  • Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom
  • Support pupils consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs
  • Encourage pupils to interact and work cooperatively with others and engage all pupils in activities
  • Promote independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement of selfreliance
  • Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement
  • Qualified in Level 2 or above in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience of SEND and 1:1 support is essential
  • Minimum of 3 years recent experience supporting SEND in a classroom environment
