Can you demonstrate improvements, through manufacturing efficiencies and team leadership?


GMP Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client located in Lydney for an experienced Fabrication Supervisor to join their business on a full time, permanent contract.


The successful Fabrication Supervisor can expect an hourly rate of £19.52 (£40,000) working Monday-Thursday 07:30am -16:30pm and Friday 07:30am -13:30pm, with opportunities for overtime.


We are looking for a skilled Fabricator with the ability to motivate, supervise, train and lead a busy team towards continual success.


Fabrication Supervisor main duties:

  • Assist in the creation and implementation of a 3year rolling manufacturing strategic plan for the Fabrication Department. Provide feedback on adherence to strategic plans.
  • Maintain & publish departmental KPI performance to the fabrication team. Identify KPI shortcoming and devise action plans to ensure KPI compliance.
  • Review, define, refine, and communicate production times for each product variant. Update times following any product or processes change.
  • Work with the Production Controller to establish departmental load, review and plan resources accordingly.
  • Review and confirm forward manpower requirements to meet both current and future production demands.
  • Demonstrate ongoing improvements through manufacturing efficiency.
  • Establish goals and objectives for the team, coach and develop high performance. Monitor, review and address under performance.
  • Address any staff discipline or grievance issues, maintaining appropriate records.
  • Prepare & publish weekly and monthly manufacturing performance against objectives.

Fabrication Supervisor required skills and experience:

  • Fabrication knowledge and experience
  • Ability to read, interpret and relay documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and drawings.
  • Experience in process improvement techniques
  • Solid computer skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
  • Able to give team briefings/presentations
  • Critical thinking and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent influencing and leading skills
