Stepping Stone Projects is an established and growing charity providing quality homes and services to help prevent homelessness and transform lives across the North West.


Our support services are aimed at helping our customers develop the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to maintain a stable home and a structured lifestyle before assisting them in the process of securing or retaining permanent independent accommodation.


Due to recent growth, we have an exciting opportunities available for
Supported Housing Workers to work in Greater Manchester, supporting customers in a number of dispersed properties providing support and accommodation to young people.


This is a full time position working Monday to Friday, with some flexibility as there may be occasional evening and weekend working to meet the needs of the service.

  • Be educated to GCSE level, including English and Maths at C grade or above
  • Have experience working in any of the following fields: supported housing, housing advice work, youth and community work or work supporting homeless people
  • Have a satisfactory enhanced DBS check
  • Have a current full driving licence and access to a vehicle
The key aims and responsibilities of the roles are to:

  • Provide high quality resettlement and housing management support to a portfolio of customers, who may have complex needs and who can be challenging to work with, within a dispersed tenancy.
  • Support and empower customers, through proactive interaction, to develop the skills they need to access and sustain a home in the long term.
  • Develop individualised packages of support, tailored to customer needs, wishes, and choices that deliver target outcomes for the customer in accordance with Stepping Stone Projects' policies and procedures.
  • Deliver a proactive housing management service to customers to enable them to meet the conditions of the tenancy with regard to any payment of rent and service charges, and meet their other obligations as a tenant.
  • Promote the safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults, complying with SSP's agreed policies and procedures.
  • Be responsible for the health and safety of one's self and colleagues in line with agreed policies and procedures.
  • Perform your duties in accordance with equality and diversity best practice and policy.

Salary:
£22,988 - £26,808 per year plus a £70 monthly non-consolidated payment in recognition of the current cost of living crisis up to August 2023, with any part month being pro rata.
