Where you'll work:

The role is primarily based at the Tonbridge Campus, but the nature of the work will require working across Tonbridge and Hadlow campuses.


Your pay:
£27,500 per annum (full time equivalent)


Your hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday / 40 weeks per annum


Your employment:
Full Time / Term Time and permanent.


Here at NKC, we are currently looking for a passionate, conscientious, and driven individual to join our Welfare & Safeguarding team as a Counselling and Mental Health Co-ordinator.


The post holder will work as a member of the Student Welfare & Safeguarding team overseeing the free counselling and mental health support provision on offer to all students.

They will manage a team of volunteer counsellors as well as leading on mental healthservices for the college.


The successful applicant will be qualified with a minimum level 4 Diploma and with at least one year post qualifying experience as a Counsellor.

Professional accreditation with a recognised counselling or psychotherapy awarding body and evidence of workingwithin an ethical professional framework is essential.


Experience of working in an education setting would be an advantage as will an understanding of the strengths and challenges of delivering counselling services in education.


In addition, the post holder must have a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection legislation and of the barriers that can impact young people and adults in further and higher education.

Strong organisational skills, excellent communication and a high standard of computer literacy are essential for this post.

The ability to relate to students across all levels of study is key, as is the ability to build professional relationships with staffin college and with community partners.
