Mission/Opportunity:
A fantastic opportunity to help drive medium and long-term growth of the Radar and Advanced Targeting (RATS) Line of Business (LoB) through leadership and management of new business winning activity

The role is very diverse and will be shaped by the the individual's skill set as well as the business' needs and will be measured by Revenue (Order Intake) generation and customer satisfaction and loyalty


Activities:
Support RATS VP Sales with leadership of Sales and Business Development strategic activities including complex campaigns and captures especially those requiring:
New customer relationship building and management Cross-sector and cross-line of business coordination

Execution of existing strategic campaigns and identification, qualification, planning and execution of new strategic campaigns across the RATS portfolio.

Identification of business wining strategies with full competitive analysis and positioning to win


Leverage existing and develop new customer relationships with B2B and end users to shape, leverage and prosecute new business opportunities.

Understand and represent the market's needs and translate these into defined capability, pricing and programme factors to position our products (including those in development) and offerings to customers in the shaping, campaign and capture phases.

Matrix leadership and management of Integrated Teams and direct management of the Business Winning Support team (responsible for ICT support, management reporting and continuous improvement of the team and function)

Effective working with Capability/CTO, Divisional Marketing, Leonardo UK Corporate and Commercial and Business Development teams.

Edinburgh, Scotland


Additional Locations:
Regular travel to Leonardo and customer sites in the UK and internationally as required


What we need from you:
A highly motivated and experienced Sales and Business Development professional ideally with experience of the full Defence and Security Sales Cycle across different market and product sectors


A self-starter who is highly motivated and able to set short and long-term planning goals in line with campaign and business needs.

Excellent Communication skills internally and externally from working to senior customer and end user stakeholders

Understanding of the Defence and Security Electronics market and customers in the UK and internationally

Strong understanding of Business Development with demonstrated performance or potential to represent the LoB in early stages of opportunity shaping and positioning

Understanding and experience of the planning and execution of business cases especially around 'go to market'

A demonstrated level of success of stakeholder and/or account management with B2B and Government customers

Experience of effectively managing budgets and schedules

Understanding and experience of new business forecasting and impact on trading

A demonstrated level of performance in Marketing and Sales activities in the Defence sector

Strong people leadership and management skills

SC clearance
