Youth Projects Senior Coordinator/ Senior Youth Worker

Location:
Brentford Community Stadium Hub Venues in and around Hounslow, and neighbouring boroughs.


Reports to:
Senior Manager


Accountable for:
Part time Youth Workers and sessional staff.


Role Type:
Lead / supervisor


Salary:
£25,000 - £28,000


Contract:
One-year fixed term (with potential to extend.)

Dates / Times:
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends if and when required.

It uses the power of sport to educate, motivate and inspire people from all walks of life.

Working in partnership with Brentford FC, the Trust offers a portfolio of programmes in education, health, sports participation, and community engagement.


The Trust has won the 'Football League Community Club 4' of the Year' award four times and now employs more than 100 members of staff.

T e Trust is forecasting further significant expansion over the next two years following its appointment as a key partner in the redevelopment of Gunnersbury Park [as a sports hub], and its move to new, larger, purpose built premises directly adjacent to the new Brentford FC 17,500 capacity stadium near Kew Bridge in 2021.


General Trust Accountabilities

The Employability and Enrichment department provides informal learning and engagement opportunities for young people to build and develop essential life skills to support their transition to adulthood, engagement in their local community and employability skills for the world of work.

We believe in high-quality provision which makes a difference to young people's lives; we offer a variety of personal, social and educational opportunities for young people to engage with, in both group and 1 :1 sessions


Our work includes:

residentials, weekly groups, short courses/projects, PSHE style activity, holiday programmes, training opportunities, volunteering & social action, work ready programmes and industry days.


We work closely with key stakeholders such as schools, charities, local authorities, and national services to both gain access to young people as well as give young people different networks, opportunities, and experiences.


Our work is based on key youth work values; We seek to build effective relationships with young people based on mutual respect and valuing individuality.

Our provision is inclusive and non-judgemental with the aims to get young people to express themselves, develop their skills and attitudes and empower them to make positive decisions and choices for their future.

Purpose of the role


The Senior youth worker will need to be able to build strong relationships with young people and deliver innovative and creative sessions/ projects.

They will provide engaging activities, work with local stakeholders, and promote youth voice and volunteering across the Trust.


The role is suitable for a dynamic and confident leader with experience of coordinating youth projects, championing youth voice and working alongside key stakeholders to create the biggest impact for young people.


The Senior Youth Worker will set up, design, and deliver high quality and engaging youth programmes for young people in the Hounslow borough and neighbouring areas.

Including youth-led projects, holiday programmes, trainings, weekly groups and school activities.

The Senior Youth Worker will lead, develop, and champion the youth voice at the Trust.

Through building strong and trusting relationships with young people and ensuring young people are represented from all areas of the Trust and the boroughs that we work in.


The Senior youth worker will work with schools, local community groups, charities, and the local authority to ensure young people are able to access the provision and to enhance the opportunities for young people.

The Senior youth worker will promote, recruit, and train youth volunteers to support programmes across the trust.
