We are looking for a proactive and creative Senior Funding Officer to join us; to support us to maximise opportunities to bring in external funding for both Council services and local organisations and partners, to help us to deliver improved services and outcomes for our communities.

The funding landscape evolves constantly, and we are looking for a flexible and motivated individual to join our team to develop a pro-active approach to securing funds for projects that will enhance a broad range of outcomes for our services and citizens.

Including projects that would support activities across a wide range of council services to support the Economy, Places and Learning; and to provide advice and support to local organisations seeking funding for projects or activities to support the objectives outlined in our Community Plan.

We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate a track record in securing funding, and partnership working; with a collaborative working style to work with and across council services and local organisations.

In addition to the core deliverables above the post holder will be expected to:

  • Work strategically and collaboratively with colleagues across the Council, and with external organisations and partners to support them to attract external funding to support their objectives and the delivery of improved outcomes.
  • Engage proactively with UK/Scottish Government and other agencies to identify funding opportunities that support priority activities and projects.
  • Establish and maintain effective contact with key funding bodies to understand their current priorities and funding streams.
  • Keeping the funding landscape under ongoing review to identify new opportunities that the council or partners could bid for.
  • Lead awareness raising at both a council and partnership level of external funding opportunities. Establishing & utilising effective communication networks and channels.
  • Develop and support project proposals/bids for funding in partnership with other council officers and/or external agencies and local organisations.

Requirements:

We are looking for an ambitious individual who can demonstrate a strategic mindset and a collaborative working style.

Preferably with experience of working in an organisation or independently to attract grant funding for projects and programmes; with a track record of successfully attracting funding for projects and programmes either in a Council or community/organisational setting.

The key skill set is one of identifying funding opportunities and supporting others to take forward projects, and to support them to navigate the funding process.

The individual will be required to operate across the various Council services, and with local organisations across Perth and Kinross.

The post requires experience, knowledge, and expertise across a range of area including the External Funding landscape; Bid and Business Case development; Relationship and Engagement management; and operating effectively within a council and partnership setting.
