As Deputy Head of College, you will make a significant contribution to the leadership of the College by leading
the professional development of the team and ensuring the highest quality of care support and guidance,
whilst supporting the College Headteacher with raising achievement and improving the quality and impact
of the team's work. The person specification identifies the experience, skills and attributes we are seeking,

- a confident Deputy, able to act for the College Headteacher in his/her absence
- an individual with strategic and emotional intelligence

College VI has a student body of over 400 students. All courses are level 3 and students who have not
achieved GCSE grade 4 in English or Mathematics are required to re-sit these examinations. To study A
grade 7 at GCSE. To study BTEC Sport, students require five 9-5 grades.

students feel that they have made a transition and have a new experience. We aim to promote self

issues. In College VI, we provide them with the opportunity to experience the breadth and balance of an
enriching curriculum, sustain personal development through wider opportunities and prepare for lifelong
learning. We are a high performing Sixth Form and we believe that students should achieve better outcomes
with us than if they were at any other institution. Therefore, it is vital that teaching and learning in College
VI are of the very highest standard.

develop critical thinking and general knowledge. It is also during these lessons that Year 12 students are
thoroughly prepared for entry to university in the spring and summer terms. We also offer students the
Education and we have an above average acceptance rate into Russell Group institutions. Those not wishing
to continue with their education have access to a KS5 Careers Co-ordinator and a programme of Careers
advice and guidance. Students participate in a Careers / UCAS week in the summer term during which they
attend talks by visiting speakers from universities and professions.
