Description

Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen in an established Loughborough based Charity.

The Bridge (East Midlands) has been working with communities since 1993 delivering specialist housing related advice, support, assistance services and accommodation options to homeless and vulnerably housed people across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.

We work with the local government alongside other charitable organisations to help prevent and overcome homelessness in the areas that we cover.

The role of Specialist Housing Advisor is dynamic and varied offering you the opportunity to manage a client caseload and provide advice and advocacy on a wide range of housing issues including housing options, mortgage and rent arrears, possession proceedings, accessing hardship funds and budgeting.

The role is funded by three building societies in the Leicestershire County as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, with the aim of ensuring access to independent housing advice and preventing homelessness within the community.

You will have a visible presence in the area, building strong links with colleagues and other agencies to deliver sustainable outcomes for your clients.

Service delivery will primarily take place at three hubs based in Hinckley, Market Harborough and Melton.
You will have good interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with your clients, colleagues and external agencies.

As the role requires detailed case management you will also be competent in the use of standard business IT systems.

A broad but thorough knowledge of Housing and Homelessness Legislation will be required together with a comprehensive understanding of Safeguarding and Data Protection practices.

Due to this project servicing the county, a full UK driving license and day to day use of a vehicle are essential.

All roles within the organisation require the undertaking of an enhanced DBS check due to the nature of the support we provide.
