About The Role


The Head of Asset Investement Capabilty Programme will be accountable for the creation, planning and delivery of a comprehensive asset investment capability improvement programme in line with our Asset Management Policy, G/30.


The programme will identify, prioritise and deliver customer-focused outcomes by integrating and coordinating the delivery of an optimised roadmap to improve our asset management capability through our
5 Asset Management Core Capabilities as we move towards world class asset management.


The programme will enable our organisation to make optimal decisions about our assets that balance risk, cost and performance within a framework based on the Institute of Asset Management's guidance.

These outcomes will be underpinned by capability and dataimprovements that enable effective, data-led decisions.


The
Head of Asset Investment Capability Programme will work collaboratively with Central and Network Leadership Teams, aligning programme outcomes with medium and long-term strategy and business planning (NAMP/SAMP).

Below is a list of the key accountabilities of the role;

  • Drive winwin outcomes by establishing and working towards common goals and ensuring that that programme delivery is aligned with the overall capability and capacity of the organisation.
  • Develop improved asset investment and dataled decisionmaking capabilities.
  • Challenge current thinking to enable world class asset management through embracing new capabilities and proven innovations to create our future operating model.
  • Develop and control an effective asset capability improvement roadmap within appropriate governance framework.
  • Influence and coordinate the delivery of asset data related project activities either through third party contracts or through collaboration with Central and Network leaders.
  • Enable the planning and delivery of multiyear asset investment outputs, objectives, and service levels; ensuring that agreed contractual targets are met.
  • Facilitate optimisation of asset cost, risk and performance to efficiently drive commercial value from asset data and enabling systems.
  • Promote a positive culture through visible proactive, consistent and influential behaviours, championing all aspects of people, processes, technology and data excellence.
  • Enable the timely and accurate reporting of Capex and Repex measures.
  • Collaborate with the Central and Network Leadership Teams and agreed Contract Partners including Strategy; Regulation; Asset Investment; Asset Data; Engineering Services; Operational Performance; Hydrogen Development & Operations; Networks and IS.
  • Build effective relationships and influence Executives at Divisional / Board / Group Exec level to drive optimum productivity and value from improvements to asset investment capabilities and data management.
  • Actively promote safety, diversity and inclusion and help to create a shared purpose within the organisation.
  • Act for and support Director of Asset Investment when required.
  • Accountability of all Commercial contract management across our operational business areas
  • Driving commercial value through all operational business areas supporting the efficient, effective and agile delivery of our business plans
  • Leading the Contract management teams who are aligned to business areas and ensuring that best practice, innovation and efficiency rationale is applied consistently
  • Best utilising the existing skills which exists within our teams, developing improved core competencies within our team and creating a high performing and effective Commercial Contract Management Approach
  • Positively engage with our supply chain partners to create "win win" solutions and aligned objectives which deliver our business plan
  • Responsible for reducing total operational costs, improving supplier resilience, building relationships to develop a more informed view of our supply chain partners, reviewing procurement arrangements frequently to ensure that they are effective and meetingcurrent requirementsWorking closely with central procurement team to ensure that all procurement processes are commercial
