Priory Hospital Hayes Grove is a private 46-bed acute psychiatric hospital for adults, located on the edge of London in Hayes, Kent.


The hospital provides care and treatment for patients with a wide range of mental health issues both as inpatients and day patients.

Hayes Grove specialises in providing care for patients with acute mental health conditions, addiction issues - both drug and alcohol, and also has a specialist Eating Disorders unit and NHS acute service.

The hospital is situated close to excellent transport links to central London, Croydon and Bromley areas and parking is available locally.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to support the Occupational Therapy team as an Occupational Therapy Assistant on a permanent part-time basis.

The role will involve supporting inpatients on our private acute ward, as well as those admitted to our NHS acute and eating disorders units to:

  • Facilitate the planning and delivery of rehabilitative activities, and organise group resources,
  • Support the development of rehabilitative programmes in conjunction with other members of the occupational therapy team,
  • Conduct individual work with patients when allocated by the Occupational Therapist,
  • Attend ward handovers and community meetings,
  • Complete administrative tasks including the writing up of Occupational Therapy assessments and risk assessments,
  • Help to organise patientled events.
  • The role holder will ideally have previous experience of working in a mental health setting. Previous experience in activity planning and provision is essential.
  • Good communication skills and a flexible approach are also essential. The role holder will be required to work weekdays and some weekend shifts, and will have proven ability to manage their time effectively and work to strict deadlines
