An opportunity has arisen for a part time Paediatric Clerical Team Leader to join Children's Outpatient Services.

This is an exciting opportunity for a self motivated and enthusiastic person to take on a challenging role. You will be expected to be responsible for the day to day supervision of clerical staff within the department. Ensuring an efficient service is provided whilst optimising the use of resources.

You will be the deputy for the Clerical Manager in their absence.

You should have a polite, friendly manner and be able to deal with sensitive and confidential information professionally. The ability to manage electronic referrals through the ERS system would be advantageous but not essential.

To ensure the smooth running of the office.

  • To monitor outpatient appointments and ensure that they are booked according to Policy and that the Patient Target Lists and national targets are adhered to.
  • To be responsible for the organisation if any additional clinics are required and that suitable clinic accommodation is available.
  • To assist the Clerical Manager in the recruitment and retention of staff. Including local induction and on the job training.
  • To ensure that the clerical service is adequately staffed at all times, organising working hours/annual leave effectively.
