SENIOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE

Role Overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Executive to join our Business Development Team.

Working as part of our Corporate and Competition function we are looking for a motivated individual looking for their next step in their career.

Thisrole will be based in our London office.


Working in conjunction with the Head of Business Development, Corporate and Competition, design and support delivery of effective business development plans for the Competition, EU & Trade ("
CEUT") practice, led by Alan Davis, a leadingcompetition lawyer.

This role carries a high degree of autonomy and involves operating at partner level - it is very much a 'trusted advisor' role and the partners look to the BD lead for ideas, strategic input, a dynamic approach, and informed views.

TheCEUT team is primarily based in the UK and Germany and though small in terms of numbers of lawyers, has a very broad range of practice areas, so will require someone with the intellectual curiosity to understand a wide range of legal services.

Collaborationthrough proactive involvement in our Sectors (especially Life Sciences, Tech, Manufacturing, Energy, FS, Retail, Universities, Infrastructure) and on cross-selling with other key practice areas (especially Corporate, IP, TMT, Projects, Real Estate,


Main Responsibilities:


General BD

  • Create and implement effective business development plans and budgets;
  • Support partners in relation to the delivery of CEUT initiatives and business development campaigns, leading on meetings with partners and colleagues in other teams as necessary;

Events

  • The annual Competition Law conference.
  • An annual dinner for a select number of clients.
  • Topical webinars on key developments across the competition, consumer, public procurement and trade law landscape.

Bids and Brochures
Support the generation of revenue through winning new business:

  • Track and keep on top of deals and credentials for the team;
  • Lead on the project management and preparation of bids, taking a handson role as necessary;
  • Keep suite of CEUT brochures updated and refreshed;

Client development and relationship management

  • Support partners in client targeting activity in the priority sectors for CEUT, ensuring optimum use made of CRM systems;
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that effective marketing lists are maintained;
  • Make an active contribution to client relationship management;

BD Budgets

  • Support the budgetary process, including putting in place realistic budget plans which support and encourage effective BD activity;
  • Ensure that partner stakeholders understand the budget structure and access routes to all funding sources (sector budgets; firmwide initiative budgets, care & maintenance etc);

Products and online services

Support the rollout of relevant products and solutions:

  • Liaise with the product and Advanced Delivery Teams on the rollout plans for relevant products and solutions for clients;
  • Track acceptance and takeup rates and analysis on ROI for future rollouts.

Relevant Experience:


  • Previous experience of business development in a professional environment
  • Experience of taking the lead in managing bids
  • Writing and editing copy for client facing documents
  • Project managing campaigns, preferably on a crosspractice and crossborder basis
