Ideal first move from practice or progressional move from manufacturing 2-3 years. Will suit a newly qualified Accountant or upto 2 years PQE.


Denholm are delighted to be working in partnership with a hugely successful FMCG client based in Glasgow to recruit an ambitious Accountant who will work with an experienced team reporting to the Financial Controller.


This is an excellent opportunity to take a step up in responsibility and assume line management for junior members of the team and transactional operating processes.


This opportunity will be ideal for someone currently working within a like-minded manufacturing organisation or someone keen to take the first step out of accounting practice.

The role offers excellent career progression and opportunity to understand keyoperation processes whilst playing an active part of key projects.


Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for production of monthly management accounts with KPI analysis
  • P&L, cashflow forecasting and balance sheet preparation
  • Budgeting monthly revenue and overhead reporting against budget, working with key budget holders and FP&A function
  • Sales analysis providing accurate financial data for UK and International sales teams
  • Provide key analysis and review of commercial, marketing and promotional spend
  • Support Financial Controller with currency and cashflow management
  • Oversee financial operation team processes i.e. journal posting and payments runs
  • Line management of junior members of the team
  • Support the organisations continuous improvement agenda, to improve policies, procedures, systems and controls
  • Support the Financial controller in the delivery of key financial project initiatives


Additionally, the role will involve building and enhancing relationships with key internal stakeholders as the finance operations, systems and procedures continue to improve.


  • Understanding of relevant accounting standards
  • Highly competent, with solid commercial acumen
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and able to successfully communicate with people at all levels, both financial and nonfinancial
