About the role
The individual will be a key member of the business unit leadership team.
This person will need to build big relationships across multiple stakeholders in order build and shape the future of the categories that they lead directly, as well as the wider business unit performance.
This will involve exec level engagement to support the delivery of the overall business retail 3YP.- You'll require expertise in understanding the consumer & market trends and be able to translate these into actionable plans
- Have a high level of knowledge around managing a category P&L with full responsibility for articulating performance
- Understand and can utilise the potential of Boots Brand Own Label as an important driver for success
- Be able to develop supplier relationships, our brand partners believe in you to deliver the future growth in the market and these relationships will be with influential leaders within our suppliers
- The role will have direct line management responsibility for a team. Direct reports to include leading and developing individuals to deliver departmental targets
- Capable to build strong relationships up to General Manager level in our suppliers
- A true expert in retail and category management with a wide depth of experience across multiple categories
- Someone who creates commitment and belief in others playing a key role in ensuring suppliers and internal stakeholders are bought in to the vision for the future of the business
- Strong commercial awareness with a deep understanding of customer needs and motivations able to translate insight to strategy to trade plans which capitalise on customer and market opportunities
- Adept at handling and leading in times of change and ambiguity, exploiting market and category development. Identifying opportunities before our competitors, leveraging, protecting and growing our brand value each step of the way
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills for commercial decisions and gain credibility at all levels in the business
- You will inspire not only your own team, but also individuals across the organisation who support the category, effectively leading a virtual team within the business unit, with CoEs and potentially across business units
