Description

Our client, a commodity trading company based in Uxbridge, are looking to recruit an Oil Operator to join the team.

ROLE

Responsible for managing the logistics of a deal to achieve best commercial advantage, ensuring that all contractual and group assurance obligations are met and that the front to back process runs smoothly and that valuable data and information is collected,entered and forwarded in a timely manner.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The daytoday operations for deals generated by the trading team, including contract reviews, secure payments processing, ensuring the correct documentation, insurance, surveys, agency appointments etc. are in place and maintained
Oversee freight optimisation, issuance of voyage instructions, tracking of vessel positions, and monitor vessel voyage progress
Ensure timely updates of trade information into the trading system
Lodge necessary claims on Buyers/Sellers/Ship Owners/Terminals, as per contract/chartering part
Prepare, monitor, and verify invoices and documents for payment to shipowners, storage tanks and surveyors
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with third parties (buyers/sellers/ship owners/terminals), associates, internal departments and across the broader group
Support trading operations for spot and term crude oil contracts and ensure a smooth execution of the shipping process from the port of loading to the port of discharge
Liaise closely with external partners, including but not limited to terminal owners and counterparties
Liaise closely with internal partners, including the shipping team on vessel vetting and recommendation on acceptance by suppliers
Ensure timely communication of cargo nominations
Ensure smooth running for trade finance and billing related activities
Accurately analyse and calculate demurrage with owner and counterparties
Ensure timely and accurate updates of the trading operations system of record for analysis and reporting purposes
Adhere to group policies and procedures
